Job summary

Western Downs Regional Council invites applications for a Network Operator's Assistant Trainee in Dalby. You will gain hands-on experience while undertaking a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Network) over a 24-month period.

The role is full-time, fixed-term, based in Dalby with supportive supervision and real-world projects. You will operate water and wastewater assets, perform field work, and provide customer service while meeting WH&S standards and collaborating with a diverse

Qualifications

• Must have Year 12 Certificate or equivalent experience.
• Desirable basic understanding of the Water Operations Industry.
• Must complete Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Network) within 24 months.
• Current Queensland C Class Licence is desirable.
• OH&S Construction Induction White Card prior to commencement.
• Pre-employment medical and literacy/numeracy tests may be required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operation and maintenance of water and wastewater pipelines, bores, sewer pump stations and associated infrastructure.
• Field work and operating civil machinery within the water and wastewater network teams.
• Undertake manual handling duties as directed by the Supervisor.
• Provide efficient and courteous customer service to Council's customers.
• Carry out work in accordance with Council's WH&S obligations.
