Job summary

Charters Towers Regional Council seeks a Water Compliance Officer to coordinate regulatory compliance across water and wastewater services. You will monitor water quality, prepare statutory reports and support DWQMP implementation.

The role requires field inspections, data analysis and collaboration with operational staff and contractors to ensure safe, compliant drinking water and wastewater operations. A C-class licence and White Card are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in water and wastewater operations or regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interpret legislation and regulatory requirements within municipal water.
• Knowledge of water quality monitoring, sampling and reporting.
• Identify and manage compliance risks and perform audits.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate statutory reporting.
• Strong communication and teamwork with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate water and wastewater regulatory compliance activities.
• Oversee water quality monitoring and regulatory reporting.
• Support DWQMP implementation and environmental monitoring programs.
• Provide technical and administrative support to operational personnel.
• Coordinate compliance monitoring across regional townships.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of services.
