Job summary

Parkes Shire Council offers cadetship, apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for motivated individuals aiming to gain hands-on experience while pursuing a nationally recognised qualification. You will gain practical skills in water and wastewater operations and network maintenance.

The program runs for two years with on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring, and culminates in a recognised vocational qualification.

Embark on an exciting career as a Water and Wastewater Trainee and develop practical skills in the operation and maintenance of Council’s water and wastewater systems. You will gain hands on experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, water supply networks and sewer systems

This traineeship will run for a period of two (2) years and will include on the job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals. At the end of the traineeship program you will attain a nationally recognised vocational qualification.
