Job summary

Parkes Shire Council invites applications for a Ranger Trainee to gain practical experience in local government regulatory services. You will work with experienced Rangers and assist with animal control, parking and public space compliance, and customer enquiries.

The two-year CAT Program provides coaching, mentoring and a nationally recognised qualification upon completion, with generous benefits including training costs paid, four weeks annual leave and flexible work options.

About the Opportunity

As a Ranger Trainee you will gain practical experience and develop skills in local government regulatory services while working alongside experienced Rangers.

You will assist with a range of Council activities including animal control, parking and public space compliance, inspections, responding to customer enquiries and supporting the community to understand and comply with local laws.

This traineeship will run for a period of two (2) years and will include on the job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals. At the end of the traineeship program you will attain a nationally recognised vocational qualification.

The CAT Program provides you with the opportunity to gain on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals, with all training and study costs paid for by Council.
