Job summary

TasWater is seeking an Infrastructure Planner to join the Infrastructure Investment Planning team on a permanent full-time basis. You will shape Tasmania's wastewater infrastructure through evidence-based planning, growth forecasts and investment recommendations, reporting to the Sewer Investment Planning Manager.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in infrastructure planning, engineering, environmental science, asset management, land use planning or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in infrastructure planning, asset planning, strategic analysis or project development.
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret data and develop practical recommendations for decisions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse audiences.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders, consultants or contractors.
• Capability with digital tools, analytical software and data systems.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure planning activities informing long-term investment decisions across wastewater assets.
• Research, analyse and develop recommendations to address asset performance, growth and capacity challenges.
• Contribute to strategic asset management initiatives and risk-based investment planning.
• Develop and maintain growth forecasts and planning assumptions for future infrastructure.
• Prepare reports, plans, business cases and technical recommendations for decision-making.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, data teams and operational stakeholders to improve planning tools, datasets and processes.
• Build collaborations with internal and external stakeholders to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
