Job summary
The Team Leader Waste and Recycling role is responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of Council's waste, recycling and resource recovery services through the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of innovative, customer-focused and environmentally sustainable programs, projects and initiatives.
Reporting to the Manager Fleet, Civil and Waste Operations, you will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team while overseeing service planning,
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams within a complex operational environment.
- Significant experience in strategic planning, management and delivery of waste, recycling, resource recovery or related services.
- Experience managing budgets, contracts and service delivery outcomes with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including reports, business cases and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team, overseeing service planning and continuous improvement.
- Oversee budget performance, contracts, and regulatory compliance to deliver outcomes.
- Offer specialist technical advice on waste and recycling matters and development assessment processes.
