Job summary

Newcastle City Council seeks a Site Enablement Operator for the Waste and Landfill Operations team, based at Summerhill Waste Management Centre. You will operate site machinery and support safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work 364 days a year, with a 38-hour week, contributing to high-quality customer service and efficient waste facility operations in Newcastle.

Qualifications

• Experience operating site plant and machinery at a waste/disposal facility.
• Based at Summerhill Waste Management Centre and operating 364 days of the year.
• Support safety, environmental licensing compliance, and develop operating procedures and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist with safe, efficient waste disposal, recycling and reuse facility operations.
• Support the coordinator to ensure safety and regulatory compliance and develop risk assessments.
• Engage in safety and operations training and provide in-field safety data.
