Job summary

Shellharbour City Council invites applications for a Waste Depot Operator at the Dunmore Waste Depot. You will manage the weighbridge and operate heavy plant to keep the depot running smoothly and in compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have MR license, experience with loaders/excavators/dozers, and the ability to complete basic reports while upholding WHS standards in a team-oriented environment.

• Current MR driver's license and understanding of waste operations.
• Ability to complete basic reports.
• Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate weighbridge and manage weighbridge operations.
• Operate a range of heavy plant (loaders, excavators, dozers, compactors) to support depot activities.
• Maintain safety and environmental guidelines on site.
• Learn weighbridge operations and support continuous improvements.

Job description

As a Waste Depot Operator, located at our Dunmore Waste Depot, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of our Dunmore Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot.

Your responsibilities will include managing the weighbridge and operating various heavy machinery to ensure the smooth running of our facility, adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines. You will operate a wide range of heavy plant, from loaders and compactors to excavators and dozers whilst also learning the weighbridge operations.

We are looking for candidates who are skilled, dedicated, and ready to jump into action. If you have the experience and drive to excel in this role, we want to hear from you!

About you

The ideal candidate will possess a mix of technical skill, safety awareness, and excellent communication abilities. You should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to upholding workplace standards.

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, and dozers.
• Current Class MR driver's license and a solid understanding of waste operations.
• Ability to Complete basic reports.
• Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

• Permanent full time, 38 hours per week with the opportunity to work a 9 day fortnight
• Commencing salary range from $64,867 - $71,619 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
