Job summary

Shellharbour City Council is seeking a Waste Depot Operator for the Dunmore Waste Depot to manage weighbridge operations and operate heavy plant to ensure safe, efficient waste handling.

You will work with loaders, excavators and dozers, hold a current MR license, and contribute to basic reporting while upholding WHS standards and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, and dozers.
• Current Class MR driver's license and understanding of waste operations.
• Ability to complete basic reports and maintain WHS standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate the weighbridge and monitor weighbridge operations.
• Operate heavy plant including loaders, excavators, and dozers while ensuring safe, efficient waste handling.
• Maintain safety, environmental guidelines and teamwork at the Dunmore Waste Depot.

Job description

As a Waste Depot Operator, located at our Dunmore Waste Depot, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of our Dunmore Recycling and Waste Disposal Depot.

Your responsibilities will include managing the weighbridge and operating various heavy machinery to ensure the smooth running of our facility, adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines. You will operate a wide range of heavy plant, from loaders and compactors to excavators and dozers whilst also learning the weighbridge operations.

About you:

The ideal candidate will possess a mix of technical skill, safety awareness, and excellent communication abilities. You should be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to upholding workplace standards.

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, and dozers.
• Current Class MR driver's license and a solid understanding of waste operations.
• Ability to Complete basic reports.
• Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

• Permanent full time, 38 hours per week with the opportunity to work a 9 day fortnight
• Commencing salary range from $64,867 - $71,619 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
