Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council in Nambour seeks a Waste Contract & Project Officer to deliver waste diversion and disposal services, manage key contracts, and drive capital infrastructure projects. You will work with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to optimise performance and meet regional goals.

The role requires qualifications or equivalent experience in project management or related fields, proven contract administration experience, and knowledge of waste practices.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or equivalent experience in project management, engineering, construction, contract administration or waste management.
• Experience in contract administration and contractor management within a complex operational environment.
• Knowledge of waste diversion, resource recovery and disposal practices and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration of critical waste service contracts, managing contractor performance and compliance.
• Act as client representative for waste infrastructure projects, coordinating planning, procurement, construction delivery and close-out.
• Support delivery of landfill, resource recovery and other waste infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders for capital works projects.
• Monitor waste facilities to ensure environmental compliance.
• Provide technical advice and contribute to service improvements.
