Job summary

Shire of East Gippsland is seeking a Waste Compliance and Project Support Officer to coordinate monitoring, audits and reporting for landfill operations, while assisting with waste infrastructure projects and contract administration. The role is 0.8 EFT, based in Lakes Entrance, with hybrid office/remote arrangements and a fixed term until June 2028.

• Experience in waste management and regulatory reporting.
• Contract administration experience and process improvement.
• Knowledge of project management principles and timelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental monitoring, site audits and aftercare for landfills.
• Prepare statutory and internal compliance reports.
• Monitor contractors against contract, environmental and safety requirements.
• Support waste and recycling infrastructure projects and tender documentation.
• Develop and maintain contract administration and compliance processes.
