Job summary

East Gippsland Shire Council is seeking a Waste Compliance and Project Support Officer to ensure our waste services and facilities meet environmental, legislative and reporting requirements. You will coordinate landfill monitoring, prepare compliance reports and work with site supervisors and contractors to address identified actions.

You will also support waste and recycling infrastructure projects, contract administration and the preparation of tender and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in waste management, legislative compliance or contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental monitoring, site audits and aftercare programs for operating and closed landfills.
• Prepare statutory, legislative and internal compliance reports.
• Monitor contractors against contract, environmental, safety, regulatory and licence requirements.
• Support waste, recycling infrastructure and compliance projects, including reporting on progress, expenditure and risks.
• Develop and maintain processes and systems for contract administration, auditing and compliance reporting.
