Job summary

Crystalbrook Kingsley is Newcastle's landmark five‑star hotel. We are seeking a Stores Assistant to ensure the smooth receiving, storage and distribution of goods across all departments, supporting inventory control and supplier processing.

You will work with the Procurement team to maintain accurate stock levels, assist with stocktakes and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, warehousing, stock control, logistics or inventory management preferred.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential).
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence using computer systems for inventory management and data entry.
• Ability to lift, carry and move stock safely throughout the hotel.
• Knowledge of food safety, stock rotation and storage practices advantageous.
• Collaborative approach and ability to build positive relationships across departments.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to prioritise competing tasks.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and store deliveries accurately and safely.
• Inspect goods for quality and match against PO and delivery docs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in procurement/inventory systems.
• Deliver stock to hotel departments per requisitions.
• Assist with stocktakes and maintain inventory levels.
• Keep storerooms, cool rooms, freezers and loading docks clean and secure.
• Rotate stock to ensure quality and minimise waste.
• Process invoices and support procurement administration.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to Procurement Manager.
• Support safety procedures and overall operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Stores Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the hotel's daily operations by ensuring the efficient receiving, storage and distribution of goods across all departments.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being organised, working as part of a collaborative team and taking pride in maintaining high standards. You'll help keep our hotel running smoothly by managing stock accurately, supporting inventory control and ensuring every department has what they need to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Working closely with the Procurement team and all hotel departments, you'll contribute to a safe, efficient and well‑organised back‑of‑house operation while supporting Crystalbrook's commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for a reliable, organised and proactive team player who enjoys working in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

You'll bring:

• Previous experience in stores, warehousing, stock control, logistics or inventory management is preferred.
