About the role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our operations at our Yatala, Queensland facility. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to manage a dynamic warehouse environment and be a part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service. As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of all warehouse operations, this is a hands on position, you won't be sitting in an office delegating. This role is pivotal to the success of our distribution network and directly impacts our ability to serve our clients effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Managing and leading the warehouse team
- Planning daily workloads and allocating staff
- Receiving and unloading incoming containers and deliveries
- Checking incoming stock against purchase orders and quantities
- Managing stock locations and warehouse organisation
- Maintaining accurate inventory and investigating discrepancies
- Coordinating large wholesale and national retail orders
- Managing picking, packing and dispatch of orders
- Ensuring orders are dispatched accurately and on time
- Working with freight companies and coordinating collections
- Preparing for major product releases and high-volume dispatch periods
- Managing pallets, cartons, packaging materials and warehouse supplies
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse
- Developing better warehouse systems and processes as the business grows
- Monitoring team productivity and identifying areas that can be improved
- Communicating stock, staffing or operational issues before they become problems
- Working closely with management, sales and administration
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar senior warehouse operations role within the distribution and logistics sector
- Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Strong inventory and stock-control experience
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, including WorkSafe requirements and best practices
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with forklift operations and material handling equipment is required, must hold a current forklift drivers license
- Must hold a current Australian driver's license
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles
- Ability to work under pressure when volumes increase, including occasional overtime during peak periods
