Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of overall warehouse performance, ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient receipt, storage and distribution of products.

Lead and develop a warehouse team of approximately 20 employees, including the Warehouse Supervisor and Team Leaders, establishing clear expectations, accountability and performance standards.

Manage workforce planning, staffing, rostering, leave coverage and warehouse capacity to meet operational requirements.

Own warehouse KPIs and performance reporting, identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, productivity and service.

Own and maintain effective inventory controls, including stock accuracy, cycle counts, stocktakes, location controls and investigation of discrepancies.

Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and within required service timeframes across retail, grocery, pharmacy, healthcare and e-commerce channels.

Ensure effective warehouse quality controls are maintained, covering product handling, traceability, non-conformances and corrective actions.

Lead warehouse WHS requirements, including risk controls for mobile plant, traffic management, manual handling, racking, loading areas, incidents and hazards.

Monitor freight and service-provider performance and address significant or recurring service issues.

Manage warehouse resources and expenditure within agreed budgets and delegated authority.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse systems, workflow, inventory accuracy, safety, productivity and cost efficiency.

Provide regular performance reporting, operational updates and recommendations to the Operations Manager and work collaboratively across the broader business.

Experience & Knowledge

Demonstrated experience managing warehouse or distribution operations within FMCG, consumer goods, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical devices or another fast-moving distribution environment.

Proven experience leading a medium-sized warehouse team, ideally with Supervisors and/or Team Leaders as direct reports.

Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory controls, stocktakes, cycle counting, order fulfilment and freight processes.

Demonstrated experience managing warehouse KPIs and operational performance and using data to drive improvement.

Practical knowledge of warehouse WHS requirements, including mobile plant, manual handling, traffic management, racking and storage systems.

Experience managing recruitment, performance, training, development and workforce requirements.

Demonstrated experience leading process improvements and corrective actions.

Experience using warehouse, inventory, ERP and/or freight management systems.

Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving capability.

Commercial and customer-focused approach to warehouse decision-making.

Strong understanding of the relationship between safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy and customer service.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across different areas of the business.

Strong operational understanding, with the ability to lead through others while maintaining oversight of overall warehouse performance.
