Backcountry Outfitters in Australia is seeking a Warehouse & Customer Service Assistant for casual or full-time work to support our wholesale warehouse operations. The role focuses on speed, accuracy, and adaptability while delivering quality service to trade and wholesale customers.

As a small, family-run business, you’ll gain exposure across stock handling, order fulfillment, invoicing, and customer support within the outdoor and firearms-related industry.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse and customer service is preferred.
• Ability to use invoicing, inventory and logistics systems.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service via phone and email for orders and product queries.
• Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders with high accuracy.
• Assist with deliveries and stock put-away; verify delivery dockets.
• Use invoicing, inventory and logistics systems.
• Handle warranty claims and liaise with customers and suppliers as needed.
• Maintain professionalism with customers, suppliers and internal staff.
• Demonstrate clear communication and sound decision-making in ambiguous situations.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations and processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge or interest in firearms and outdoor industry.

Role Responsibilities:

• Providing customer service support via phone and email, including order enquiries, freight queries, and general product support.
• Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders with a high level of accuracy.
• Assisting with incoming deliveries and put-away of stock, including cross-checking delivery dockets for accuracy.
• Ability to use invoicing, inventory, and logistics systems.
• Handling warranty claims and liaising with customers and suppliers where required.
• Maintaining a high level of professionalism when dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Confident decision-making in situations of ambiguity, with the ability to clearly communicate reasoning and outcomes.
• Identifying and advising on opportunities for continuous improvement within warehouse operations and customer processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, or strong interest in, the firearm and outdoor industry.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Current valid firearms licence.
• Forklift licence.
• QLD driver’s licence.
