Job summary

Scicluna’s Real Food Merchants in Dandenong VIC is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to replenish and organise stock in the cool-room, ensuring FIFO and quality control. The role supports efficient warehouse operations with attention to detail and strong reliability.

You will handle fresh produce, assist with unloading and stacking, and maintain a safe, clean work area in a temperature-controlled environment. Forklift licence is desirable but not essential, and the role requires the ability to lift

Qualifications

• Experience with handling fresh fruit and vegetables is advantageous.
• Forklift licence (LF) is desirable, but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail with focus on product quality.
• Physically able to lift up to 20 kg and work in a temperature-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Replenish and organise warehouse and cool-room stock accurately.
• Ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO) to maintain freshness and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Assist with unloading, moving, and stacking stock.
• Monitor product quality and report any issues or shortages.
• Operate a forklift where required (if licensed).
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and WHS procedures.
• Support general warehouse operations as needed.

The Role

Warehouse Assistant

This role involves replenishing and organising stock within the cool-room environment, ensuring correct stock rotation (FIFO), maintaining product quality, and supporting efficient warehouse operations.

Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality are critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Replenish and organise warehouse and cool- room stock accurately
• Ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO) to maintain freshness and quality
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Assist with unloading, moving, and stacking stock
• Monitor product quality and report any issues or shortages
• Operate a forklift where required (if licensed)
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety procedures
• Support general warehouse operations as needed

About You

• Demonstrated experience or sound understanding of handling fresh fruit and vegetables is highly regarded
• Forklift licence (LF) is desirable, but not essential
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on product quality
• Reliable, punctual, and physically fit able to lift up to 20kg without any issues
• Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a warehouse or wholesale environment is an advantage
