Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a hospital reception officer to be the welcoming face of the ward and coordinate admissions, transfers and patient flow. You will provide professional and compassionate reception services and support safe, efficient patient care in a Monday–Friday 7:30am–3:36pm role.

As the ward’s first point of contact, you’ll manage enquiries, assist visitors, and maintain patient information systems with accuracy while working as part of a supportive team in a public health

Qualifications

• Strong organisation and attention to detail with patient information and records.
• Confidently use hospital information systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, or quickly learn new systems.

Join our hospital team and play a vital role in supporting patients, families and staff through responsive reception, admissions, transfers and patient flow coordination.

Your new role:

As the ward's first point of contact, you'll provide professional and compassionate reception services while coordinating essential administrative activities that support safe and efficient patient care. From answering enquiries and assisting visitors to completing admissions, coordinating transfers and updating patient information systems, you'll help ensure patients and staff receive timely, accurate and courteous support. This is a Monday–Friday, 7:30am–3:36pm position suited to an organised, customer-focused team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality service.

You're a friendly, organised and customer-focused professional who thrives in a busy hospital environment and can confidently balance competing priorities while providing accurate, compassionate support to patients, visitors and staff.
