Job summary

ACT Government seeks a motivated, community-focused professional to coordinate urban open space volunteers across Canberra. You will work with volunteer groups, ACT Government stakeholders, and Ngunnawal people to plan and deliver environmental projects, ensuring safe and meaningful volunteer experiences.

This permanent full-time role emphasizes inclusivity and collaboration with diverse communities, with ABW workspace considerations and a strong commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• Eligibility: Driver’s licence Class C or higher is essential.
• White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention training are essential.
• Tertiary qualifications relevant to urban land management, natural and cultural resource management are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate more than 120 active volunteer groups across Canberra's Urban Open Space network.
• Support planning and delivering environmental restoration, conservation and place improvement projects.
• Ensure volunteers have a safe, positive and meaningful experience while contributing to parks and open spaces.
