The Visitor Services Supervisor position at Cultural Facilities Corporation supports arts and culture across ACT sites such as Lanyon Homestead, Mugga Mugga Cottage, Calthorpes House, Albert Hall and Canberra Museum and Gallery.   • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • WWVP Working with Vulnerable People registration is required prior to commencing.

Details

The Visitor Services Supervisor position in the Cultural Facilities Corporation is a unique and exciting role supporting arts and culture in the ACT. You will work across our arts, heritage and cultural facilities including Lanyon Homestead, Mugga Mugga Cottage, Calthorpes House, Albert Hall and Canberra Museum and Gallery, delivering a range of engaging programs, events and tours for the people of Canberra. This role suits an individual with experience in the arts and cultural sector who is looking for a stimulating workplace where each day is different to the next. The role is a mix of duties which keeps every day different and interesting:



  • Supervising and training Visitor Services Officers and volunteers to provide excellent customer service and to deliver quality visitor experiences, including tours, education and public programs, and events. Implement and review operational procedures and processes.

  • Delivery and supervision of museum tours, education, public programs and general front of house duties.

  • Provision of administrative and logistic support for education, public programs, venue hire and events including set-up, pack down, catering arrangements, collecting visitor data, banking reconciliation and reporting. Assist with staff rostering.

  • Oversee museum reception, retail and front-of-house operations, including ticket and retail sales and reconciliation, stocktake, stock orders and front of house and museum/gallery presentation.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements


  • Experience working in ACT Government would be welcome but not essential.

  • Mustpossessa current driver’s licenceand be able to travel to all GMH sites including Lanyon Homestead, MuggaMuggaCottage, CalthorpesHouse and Albert Hall.

  • Must beavailable to work weekends,public holidaysand after hours to supportspecial eventsand programs.

  • First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to obtain).

  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra


Note

This is a rostered shift work position of 26.125 hours per week. Salary will be pro rata @26.125 hrs.
