Canberra Grammar School is seeking a visionary Director of CGS Music to lead a world-class programme and shape the future of music across Pre-School to Year 12. This role combines artistic authority with strategic leadership, guiding curriculum, ensembles, tuition and the Snow Concert Hall.

The Director will set high artistic standards, lead concert programming and mentor a diverse team of musician-educators while managing facilities, schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success leading a large and comprehensive P–12 music programme with curriculum, ensembles, tuition and performance.
• Proven artistic and educational leadership, including conducting, ensemble direction, concert programming and high musical standards.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing a diverse team of musician-educators.
• Ability to articulate a compelling vision uniting musical excellence with broad student participation.
• Experience managing facilities, budgets, schedules and operational systems to a professional standard.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with students, families, alumni and cultural organisations.
• Alignment with values of a leading independent school.
• Postgraduate qualifications in music/performance or arts leadership are required.
• Experience in a large independent school or comparable music environment.
