Job summary

Canberra Grammar School is seeking a highly organised Music Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of CGS Music across the Primary and Senior Schools. The role sits within the Music administration team coordinating communications, records, and resources while assisting with financial and purchasing processes.

You will contribute to a vibrant programme encompassing instrumental tuition, ensembles, concerts and events, bringing strong organisational skills and a customer-service

Qualifications

  • Experience in a busy administrative, educational, performing arts or customer-service environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records, databases, schedules and filing systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, employees, contractors and external stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and understanding of confidentiality.
  • Confidence working independently within established procedures while contributing to a team.
  • Strong digital literacy across Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience supporting events, purchasing, budgets, asset registers or programme administration.

About the Role

Canberra Grammar School is seeking a highly organised and service-focused Music Administrator to help deliver the day-to‑day operations of CGS Music across the Primary and Senior Schools.

Working as part of the Music administration team, you will be at the centre of a vibrant programme encompassing instrumental tuition, ensembles, concerts, events and performances. You will coordinate communications, maintain student and programme records, support instrumental tuition, manage music resources and assist with financial, purchasing and operational processes.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for an accomplished administrator who enjoys working with people, managing competing priorities and contributing to a creative environment where no two days are quite the same.

The position is full-time and ongoing, with hours primarily worked during school terms and occasional days during term breaks to support programme requirements.

You are a proactive and dependable administrator who takes pride in creating order, anticipating needs and helping others succeed. Calm under pressure and attentive to detail, you bring warmth, professionalism and a genuine commitment to excellent service.

You will bring:

  • experience supporting events, purchasing, budgets, asset registers or programme administration
  • An interest in music, or previous experience within a music, education or performing arts environment, would be highly regarded
