Job summary

VicVet in Whittlesea, VIC is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing hospital on a casual basis. You will be the first point of contact for clients, delivering friendly, efficient service while supporting reception workflow across Primary Care and Emergency & Referral services.

Ideal candidates have veterinary reception experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm in busy moments. Evening, weekend and public holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Have previous veterinary reception experience (preferred).
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Remains calm and compassionate during busy or emotional situations.
• Organised, efficient and able to multitask.
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident using computer systems; experience with EzyVet is advantageous.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greeting clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
• Managing incoming phone calls and emails
• Booking appointments and coordinating schedules
• Processing payments and managing accounts
• Handling emergency enquiries and directing cases appropriately
• Supporting communication between clients and clinical teams
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Assisting with general administrative duties and reception workflow
• Working collaboratively with both Primary Care and Emergency & Referral departments
• Following cleaning protocols each shift
