Qualifications

• Requires Veterinary Nursing Certificate IV or advanced nursing experience in a small animal hospital or teaching setting.
• Experiences in a wide range of veterinary procedures and emergencies are desirable.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a teaching hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• assist clinicians and veterinary interns with treatments
• prepare and assist with surgeries and clinical procedures
• face-to-face enquiries
• basic triage, and admission and discharge of patients
• clean and maintain clinical spaces
• sterilise instruments and equipment
• prepare and pack surgical kits
• maintain stock including ordering of consumables and procurement of supplies
• control of stock quantities
