Job summary

The Village Vet in Downer, ACT, is seeking a qualified or experienced veterinary nurse to join a modern, independent clinic. Enjoy a four-day week, no after-hours shifts, and a collaborative team committed to learning and client care.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent experience.
• Strong teamwork and collaborative spirit.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities within a busy practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospitalised patients.
• Assist with anaesthesia, surgery and perioperative care.
• Perform nursing procedures: blood collection, IV catheter placement, in-house pathology.
• Assist with radiography, ultrasound and dental procedures.
• Conduct nurse consultations and client education.
• Share reception duties: answering enquiries, scheduling, admitting/discharging.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control and equipment care.
