Job summary

Tableland Veterinary Service in Atherton is seeking an EXPERIENCED VETERINARY NURSE to join our clinic. The role spans hospital, surgery and consulting, with rotation to keep skills diverse and up-to-date.

You will support nursing staff, assist the veterinary team and engage with clients with empathy. Applicants should hold relevant veterinary nursing qualifications or have substantial experience, and be available for 4 days per week, including some Saturday mornings.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate 2 in Animal Studies, Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, or have a minimum of 3 years experience in veterinary nursing.
• Experience in veterinary/clinical nursing or customer service is desirable.
• Ability to work 4 days per week, 7:30am–5:00pm with some Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care for hospital inpatients and advise clients on treatment plans.
• Assist with surgical preparation, anaesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Support nursing team across hospital, surgery and consulting areas.
• Assist reception when needed and maintain clinic hygiene and biosecurity procedures.
• Support diagnostic workups including restraining animals, taking samples, and preparing medications.
