Googong Veterinary Centre is a community-focused small animal practice seeking a veterinary nurse to join our team on a part-time basis, with possible hours at sister clinics across Canberra. The role covers nursing in hospitalized care, anesthesia, treatments, and reception duties, with opportunities to participate in radiology, dentistry, and surgery under supervision.

Qualifications

• Completed their Certificate IV in veterinary nursing.
• Ideally 1–2 years of experience.
• Exceptional communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy clinic.

• Reliability and accountability are expected.
• Capable of working well in both team and independent settings.
• Be efficient, proactive, and seek help when needed.

Job description

Googong Veterinary Centre, a community focused small animal veterinary practice, is looking for an additional veterinary nurse to join our team. With strong relationships creating a place where both pets and people feel at home, the successful candidate will be able to work part time and have the offer of additional hours at our sister clinics across the city of Canberra.

Key responsibilities

• Nursing in hospitalized care
• Anesthesia
• Treatments
• Reception
• Blood collection and processing
• Assisting with dentistry
• Assisting in surgeries
• Assisting with and performing radiology under supervision
• Running nurse consults and discharges

About you

• Completed their certificate IV
• Ideally 1-2 year's experience
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• A team player with a can-do attitude
• Reliability
• Hold themselves accountable
• Capable of working well in both a team environment and independently
