Job summary

Rugby World Cup Australia is seeking three Venue Technology Managers to deliver the technology that underpins the 2027 Rugby World Cup. You will plan, coordinate, and deliver technology services across tournament venues, supporting players, officials, media, workforce, and fans with networks, Wi‑Fi, end‑user devices, communications, AV, and broadcast technology.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Venue Technology, you will translate requirements into operational solutions across multiple venues,

Qualifications

4+ years' experience in venue technology, event technology, or a related technology leadership role.
Proven experience delivering technology solutions for at least three tournaments and/or major multi-venue sporting events.
Strong knowledge of event and venue technology services, including networks, telecommunications, host broadcast operations, media operations, and operational readiness planning.
Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders, clients, vendors, contractors, and service providers, building strong relationships and driving successful outcomes.
Excellent project management, risk, issue, and change management skills, with a track record of delivering outcomes on time, within budget, and to agreed standards.
Strong communication, organisational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with venue planning and mapping tools will be highly regarded.
Flexible and adaptable, with the willingness to travel and work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and event periods to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of venue technology services, ensuring all tournament spaces are equipped to meet operational requirements.
Develop and maintain detailed venue technology plans across networks, Wi-Fi, audio-visual services, communications, broadcast distribution, and end-user technology.
Coordinate technology vendors, contractors, and service providers to deliver solutions on time, within budget, and in line with Rugby World Cup Australia and World Rugby standards.
Act as the primary technology lead for assigned venue(s), partnering with functional areas, venue operators, broadcasters, media teams, and key stakeholders to support successful tournament delivery.
Oversee venue technology readiness activities, including equipment deployment, testing, operational support planning, issue management, and service continuity during tournament operations.
Monitor risks, resolve technical issues, support reporting and post-event reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement across venue technology operations.
