Job summary

Everi Pty in Queensland is seeking a proactive event operations lead to deliver sport, recreation and community experiences in Toowoomba. You will plan and coordinate a diverse portfolio, build relationships with sporting bodies and stakeholders, and drive improvements across venue operations.

The role requires after-hours and weekend availability, a collaborative mindset, and a focus on safety, customer service and effective contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality services to customers and stakeholders of the venue.
  • Coordinate venue contractors, including onboarding, scheduling, supervising, and reporting.
  • Coordinate functions for the venue in accordance with policies and procedures, including client inductions, setup and pack down of equipment, reception services and client relationship management.
  • Contribute towards development and implementation of standard operating procedures and safe work method statements for facility operations.
  • Ensure all aspects of venue operations meet workplace health and safety, fire safety, environmental and other legislated standards.
  • Coordinate comprehensive administrative support (payments, debt management, data entry standards and records management) with confidentiality and quality assurance.
  • Promote the venue's products and services and maximise business opportunities through marketing.
  • Liaise and develop partnerships with industry stakeholders for sport and recreation products and services.
  • Use effective communication with private, public, industry, community sectors and clients to enable successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.

Sport and Racing delivers quality services by providing responsive and integrated support services for sport, recreation and racing opportunities for all Queenslanders.

The team drives grassroots sport participation across the State through programs and services while also delivering the capital planning, build and maintenance program for the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games (the Department).

Ultimately the Department plays a key role in enabling Queensland's Sport Strategy and delivering the Government's commitments and priorities. Sport and Racing supports and encourages participation and success in sport, active recreation and racing.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality services to customers and stakeholders of the venue.
  • Coordinate venue contractors, including but not limited to on-boarding, scheduling, supervising, and reporting.
  • Coordinate functions for the venue in accordance with policies and procedures. This includes client inductions, setup and pack down of equipment, reception services and client relationship management.
  • Contribute towards the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and safe work method statements for facility operations in accordance with legislative requirements and in keeping with industry best practice.
  • Ensure all aspects of the operations of the venue meet current workplace health and safety, fire safety, environmental, and other legislated standards and support implementation of the venue's event risk management procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee a comprehensive range of administrative support (e.g. payments, debt management, data entry standards and records management, ensuring confidentiality and quality assurance in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promote the venue's products and services and maximise business opportunities through marketing.
  • Liaise, consult, negotiate and develop partnerships with appropriate industry stakeholders in relation to the delivery of sport and recreation products and services at the venue.
  • Use effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and liaise with all levels of the private, public, industry, community sectors and clients to enable successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours which maintain a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.

Note: It is a requirement of this role that you are available to work after hours and on weekends.
