Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Venue Attendant at the Highfields Cultural Centre to deliver exemplary customer service during event setup, operation and wrap-up. The role is temporary, part-time, 15.2 hours per week, with shifts mainly on Thursdays and Fridays.

The base wage is $454.18 gross per week plus 17.5% leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation. A Certificate III in Hospitality or relevant experience is required, with WWC/Blue Card and RSA obligations outlined in the

  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain.
  • RSA Experience or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills and teamwork.
  • A 1-page document addressing each success criterion with headings and specific examples.

About the position

In the Venue Attendant position, you will maintain the highest level of customer service in the setting up, running and cleaning up of events held at the Toowoomba Region Community Venues.

You will work under generalinstruction.

  • The base wage rate for this position is$454.18 gross per week (or $29.88 per hour), plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
  • This is a Temporary Part time opportunity offering 15.2 hours per week, available until 27 June 2027.
  • The position is based at the Highfields Cultural Centre and will be required to work Thursday and Friday each week.

What you'll bring
  • Certificate III in Hospitality or other relevant field and / or relevant experience and competence, which enables the incumbent to perform all duties of the position.
  • Possession of current and valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) ‘Statement of Attainment’ Certificate, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of commencement.
  • A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a focus on teamwork.
  • A 1 page document that addresses each of the Success Criteria listed in the Position Description . For each criterion:

    • Provide specific examples that demonstrate your skills, experience, and achievements related to that criterion. (Tip: tell what you did, how you did it, and what the outcome was).

The preferred candidate will be required to undertake a Criminal History Check and a pre-employment medical assessment to assess their ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the position.
