Job summary

Motorfit is seeking a Part-Time Accounts & Collections Officer in Sydney. The role focuses on customer payment collections, outstanding accounts, and vehicle-related payments, with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable and reconciliation.

You will communicate with customers by phone and email and support finance and sales teams to resolve discrepancies. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of AUD 38, 20 hours per week, and potential for an ongoing role based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable, collections, bookkeeping or financial administration.
• Strong understanding of invoicing, payment reconciliation and customer account management.
• Experience in the automotive, trucking or dealership industry is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and professional phone manner.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with customers regarding outstanding vehicle and truck payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable and ensure payments are collected on time.
• Contact customers professionally by phone and email regarding overdue balances.
• Track vehicle deposits, outstanding balances and final payments.
• Reconcile incoming payments against invoices and customer accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of payments received, outstanding debts and customer communications.
• Coordinate with the sales and finance teams to resolve payment discrepancies.
• Prepare regular reports on outstanding accounts, overdue payments and collection progress.
• Identify payment delays and elevate unresolved accounts to management.
• Assist with general accounts administration and payment-related enquiries.
