Job summary

Manor Lakes P-12 College in Wyndham Vale, Victoria, seeks Learning Specialists who will spend most of their time in classrooms delivering high-quality teaching and learning while taking on responsibilities such as demonstration lessons, coaching peers, and leading school-based professional learning.

They will support the leadership team to promote effective teacher practice, monitor student progress using data, and drive continuous improvement in student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of curriculum and exemplary teaching practice across the curriculum.
• Ability to model and implement high impact teaching strategies to meet student needs and growth.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Model exemplary classroom practice including teaching demonstration lessons.
• Work with school leadership to define highly effective teacher practice.
• Lead and model whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum delivery and planning.
• Provide professional learning through observation, feedback, and peer collaboration.
• Model how to seek, analyse and act on feedback to improve practice.
• Provide expert advice on professional learning and school context.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers and coach teachers.
• Model use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Develop school-wide professional learning structures and protocols through PLCs.
• Encourage reflective practice and inquiry to improve teaching.
