Job summary

Sunshine College in Melbourne is seeking a Learning Specialist to model excellence in teaching and learning, delivering demonstration lessons and coaching teachers to improve student achievement and engagement.

The role collaborates with English and EAL teams to strengthen curriculum delivery, assessment practices and examination preparation, guided by the College's Strategic Plan and annual plan.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching across literacy and numeracy.
• SC2: Expertise in high impact teaching strategies and ability to help teachers evaluate impact on student growth.
• SC3: Ability to monitor and assess learning and use data to inform teaching and feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and the school community.
• SC5: Model behaviours aligned with Department values and support school-based professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Teaching Practice: ensure current VCAA English and EAL study designs and examination expectations are implemented.
• Promote high academic expectations and provide appropriate challenge and support for all learners.
• Strengthen consistency in curriculum planning.
