Job summary

Genesis Recruitment Solutions in Canberra is seeking an experienced VB6 Developer to support, enhance and modernise business-critical enterprise applications. You will work across legacy VB6 systems and contemporary Microsoft technologies, contributing to maintenance, defect resolution, database development, system integration and technology uplift.

The position is a 6-month temporary contract with a hybrid working arrangement (2 days in office) for Canberra-based candidates only.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing and supporting Visual Basic 6 applications.
• Experience with .NET, C# and Windows Forms.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Experience supporting enterprise-grade thick-client applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance enterprise applications using VB6 and .NET.
• Support Windows thick-client applications, including WinForms UI/UX.
• Develop and optimise SQL Server databases, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers and views.
• Build and maintain SSIS packages supporting ETL, data migration and integration.
• Produce technical specifications, solution designs, support documentation and deployment guides.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers and stakeholders.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps and Git.
