Job summary

Shangri-La Sydney is seeking a Valet Parking Attendant to deliver a seamless arrival and departure experience for guests at a luxury five‑star property in the heart of The Rocks. You will drive and park guest vehicles safely, assist with luggage, and support front office and concierge colleagues to ensure smooth driveway operations.

The role requires excellent communication, reliability and a customer‑focused approach, with a strong emphasis on safety and professional presentation in a five‑star

Qualifications

• A current and valid driver’s licence with a safe driving history.
• Experience in valet parking, hospitality or guest-facing roles is desirable.
• Knowledge of local area and strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests in a warm, professional manner at arrival and departure.
• Safely deliver and retrieve guest vehicles and operate valet ticket system.
• Assist guests with luggage and other requests as needed.
• Coordinate with Door Person, Concierge and Front Office to ensure smooth driveway operations.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services and operating hours to assist guests.
• Complete cashiering, shift reports and other admin duties as required.

About the role

As a Valet Parking Attendant, you will play an important role in creating a seamless and personalised experience for guests from the moment they arrive at the hotel.

Working closely with the Door Person, Concierge, Front Office team and hotel management, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of guest vehicles, while also providing friendly and professional assistance throughout the guest journey.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident, reliable and customer-focused, with excellent communication skills, a strong awareness of safety and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional hospitality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcome and assist guests in a warm, professional and courteous manner, providing a seamless arrival and departure experience.
• Safely and efficiently deliver and retrieve guest vehicles, accurately operate the valet ticket system and maintain appropriate vehicle movement records.
• Assist guests with luggage, packages and other requests, including storing, retrieving and transporting luggage to and from guest rooms as required.
• Work closely with the Door Person, Concierge and Front Office teams to ensure smooth driveway operations and efficient guest service.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of hotel facilities, services and operating hours, as well as Sydney streets, restaurants, attractions, events and activities to confidently assist guests.
• Complete cashiering, daily shift reports and other administrative duties accurately, respond to tasks delegated by management, and contribute to a positive and professional team environment.

• Vehicle movements and valet tickets are recorded accurately and consistently.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in valet parking, hospitality, hotels, concierge, front office, customer service or a similar guest-facing role is desirable.
• A current and valid driver's licence with a confident and safe driving history.
• Strong awareness of safety when driving and working around vehicles and pedestrians.
• Ability to remain calm, organised and professional during busy arrival and departure periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage vehicle movements and parking documentation.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
