Job summary

Vinarchy, based at Rowland Flat in the Barossa Valley, is offering Vintage Laboratory Assistant roles for Vintage 2027. You will support winemaking by collecting and analysing samples in a NATA‑accredited lab, following SOPs, and contributing to quality and consistency across stages of vintage.

Roles require adaptability to indoor/outdoor environments with shift work. This entry‑level opportunity suits school leavers or seasonal workers, with training provided and a chance to build hands‑on lab

Today, Vinarchy is redefining wine, and our Rowland Flat winery sits proudly in the heart of the Barossa, one of Australia’s most iconic wine regions.

For Vintage 2027, we’re opening our doors to a new team of Vintage Laboratory Assistants. Whether you’re a school leaver, backpacker, working holiday maker or returning for another season, this is your chance to experience vintage in one of the country’s most renowned winemaking hubs.

These roles are based at Vinarchy – Rowland Flat, Barossa South Australia.

The Role

As a Vintage Laboratory Assistant , you’ll support our winemaking and production teams by collecting, preparing and analysing samples throughout the winemaking process. You’ll work in our NATA ‑ accredited laboratory, using modern analytical equipment to ensure quality and consistency across every stage of vintage.

Vintage at Rowland Flat is fast ‑ paced, hands ‑ on and incredibly rewarding. You’ll work across indoor and outdoor environments, including at heights, and be part of a collaborative team that thrives on energy, accuracy and teamwork.

This is a shift ‑ based role , operating on a 18/7 rotating roster during peak periods - including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare juice and wine samples
• Perform basic laboratory analysis
• Record, enter and report results accurately
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety
• Work at heights (15 ‑ metre catwalks)
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Complete internal training and follow SOPs
• Work rotating shifts, weekends and additional rostered hours as required

Your Knowledge and Skills

Physical and Other Requirements

Frequent standing, walking and manual handling

Regular use of stairs to access catwalks

Must have a current driver’s licence

Must have full working rights in Australia

About Vintage 2027

Applications will be processed September–December 2026 , with successful applicants commencing January–February 2027 . Vintage typically runs for approximately 12 weeks , though timing may vary depending on harvest conditions.
