Job summary

Oxworks seeks a UX/UI Designer to make us the cleanest, simplest and easiest business in our category to buy from. You’ll own the experience behind every customer-facing digital platform—the websites, Trade App and self-serve Kiosk—working mobile-first for Trade customers.

You’ll research, map, prototype and design journeys that drive our next stage of eCommerce growth, collaborating with our E-Commerce Developer, SEO Content Specialist and IT Projects Officer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' commercial UX/UI experience with research-led, mobile-first eCommerce or app work.
• Advanced in Figma, including components, auto layout and interactive prototyping.
• Experience running user research and usability testing and turning findings into design decisions.
• Designed complex eCommerce functionality such as search, checkout, accounts or calculators.
• Strong information architecture, interaction and visual design skills.
• Understands HTML/CSS, and works closely with developers; familiar with GA4/Hotjar/Clarity and A/B testing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run customer research, including interviews, observations, surveys and usability testing.
• Map end-to-end journeys across websites, Trade App, Kiosk and branches to remove friction.
• Produce user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Design priority features: faster checkout, saved items, orders, and 2-hour Click & Collect.
• Design mobile-first search that returns right products, accessories and quantities.
• Redesign calculators and create new configurators and tools as part of a custom tool program.
• Shape experiences for tiered Trade loyalty and app onboarding; build and maintain design system.
• Hand over specs and work with E-Commerce Developer through build/testing.
• Use analytics and A/B tests to measure impact on conversion and repeat purchasing.

Are you a research-led designer who gets a buzz from making complex things feel simple? Oxworks is looking for a UX/UI Designer to make us the cleanest, simplest and easiest business in our category to buy from.

You'll own the experience behind every customer-facing digital platform we have: our websites, our new Trade App and our self-serve Kiosk. Working mobile-first and grounded in how Trade customers actually work, you'll research, map, prototype and design the journeys that drive our next stage of eCommerce growth, side by side with our E-Commerce Developer, SEO Content Specialist, Digital Content Creator and IT Projects Officer.

What You'll Do:

• Plan and run customer research, including interviews, branch observation, surveys and usability testing with Trade customers and branch staff.
• Map end-to-end customer journeys across the website, Trade App, Kiosk and branches, and remove friction wherever you find it.
• Produce user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Design priority features: a faster checkout, buy again, favourites, saved jobs, reordering, account and invoice history, and 2-hour Click & Collect.
• Design mobile-first search that understands the job and returns the right products, accessories and quantities.
• Redesign our calculators and create new configurators and custom tools as part of our custom tool program.
• Shape the experience for our tiered Trade loyalty program and the Trade App launch and onboarding.
• Build and maintain the Oxworks design system and component library, keeping every platform consistent, accessible (WCAG 2.2 AA) and on-brand.
• Hand over clear specs and work alongside our E-Commerce Developer through build and testing.
• Use analytics, heatmaps, session recordings and A/B tests to measure impact and keep improving conversion and repeat purchasing.

About You:

• You have 3+ years' commercial UX/UI experience and a portfolio showing research-led, mobile-first eCommerce or app work.
• You're advanced in Figma, including components, auto layout and interactive prototyping.
• You've run user research and usability testing, and turned what you learned into design decisions.
• You've designed complex eCommerce functionality such as search and filtering, checkout, account areas or calculators.
• You have strong information architecture, interaction and visual design skills.
• You understand HTML and CSS, know how designs get built, and enjoy working closely with developers.
• You're comfortable with GA4, Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity and A/B testing tools.
• B2B or Trade eCommerce experience is highly sought after, as is experience with design systems, native apps or kiosk/touchscreen interfaces.
• You can present and justify your design decisions to stakeholders across the business.
• You hold a current driver's licence.
