Job summary

Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand & Catering Assistant on a casual basis to maintain hygiene, assist with food prep and support events across the kitchen and catering operations.

You will wash dishes, keep the workspace clean, assist with stock, and help with setup for functions while contributing to a positive team environment. Queensland-based role with weekend and evening availability.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining high hygiene standards.
• Previous food preparation experience (sandwiches, salads, plating).
• Current Queensland driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as part of a casual roster.
• Be able to pass police check.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes and keep kitchen equipment clean.

Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests. Primary Responsibilities Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on, varied position supporting both the kitchen and catering operations. you will help maintain the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen while assisting with member events, functions and catering services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
• Assisting with stock handling and storage
• Supporting chefs with food preparation and mise en place
• Preparing sandwiches and other basic food items
• Assisting with the setup and pack down of events and functions
• Providing general kitchen and catering support as required

You will be an all‑rounder who takes pride in your work, can be trusted to complete tasks unsupervised, and contributes positively to a team environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A can‑do attitude and excellent communication skills
• Physically fit and comfortable with some heavy lifting
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Above all, a great personality with a can‑do attitude
• Previous food preparation experience (sandwich making, salads, plating)
• Current, valid Queensland driver’s licence

Hours and Days

Our kitchen operates seven days a week, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Successful applicants must be available to work across a flexible rotating roster.
