The City of Kingston is seeking a Tree Planting Officer to lead the planning and delivery of Kingston's annual street and park tree planting programs, enhancing shade, biodiversity and community benefits across Council-managed land.

This leadership role focuses on coordinating contractors, engaging residents, and ensuring safe, efficient delivery while maintaining accurate records to support urban forest planning and canopy growth.

Formación

• Demonstrated experience in arboriculture, horticulture or urban forestry with involvement in planting programs.
• Knowledge of tree species selection, planting techniques and tree establishment in urban settings.
• Proven experience coordinating contractors and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with residents and contractors.
• Well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and records.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, coordinate and deliver Kingston's annual street and park tree planting programs across Council land.
• Identify planting opportunities and assign species to maximise canopy and biodiversity outcomes.
• Coordinate and manage planting contractors, ensuring safe and contract-compliant delivery.
• Engage with residents to respond to enquiries about street and park planting plans.
• Monitor establishment, maintain asset records and support urban forest planning.
