Kingston City Council's Urban Forest team is seeking a Tree Planting Officer to plan and deliver Kingston's annual street and park tree planting programs across Council-managed land in Melbourne's south-east.

This leadership role emphasizes contractor management and community engagement, with a band 6 salary of $100,968 to $110,162 per annum plus superannuation, and a pathway to enhance canopy, biodiversity and resident benefits.

Formación

• Experience in arboriculture, horticulture or urban forestry with tree planting program exposure.
• Knowledge of tree species selection and planting techniques.
• Experience coordinating contractors and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and reporting abilities.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement in environmental outcomes.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, coordinate and deliver Kingston's annual street and park tree planting programs.
• Identify suitable planting opportunities and select species for canopy and biodiversity.
• Coordinate and manage tree planting and establishment contractors.
• Engage with residents to respond to enquiries about planting programs.
• Monitor establishment and records to maximise tree survival rates and inform urban forest planning.
