OnDeck Australia is seeking an experienced Underwriting Team Leader to lead a small team of underwriters while staying hands-on on complex SME lending decisions. This genuine player-coach role balances leadership with direct credit work to ensure quality decisions.

You'll coach, mentor and manage day-to-day flow, improve reporting and processes, and collaborate with Sales, Operations and Risk to align credit strategy with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Actuarial Studies, Finance, Business, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Strong commercial, SME or business lending experience.
• Hands-on experience assessing complex credit applications.
• Strong financial analysis skills and commercial judgement.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting other credit professionals.
• Experience establishing and managing internal KPIs using data to drive performance.
• Excellent collaboration with Sales, Operations and Risk.
