Job summary

Anglo American / De Beers Group is seeking a seasoned ventilation and gas drainage professional to lead all ventilation and gas management activities at Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah. You will provide leadership across planning, monitoring and operational controls, partnering with Technical Services and site leadership to integrate ventilation into daily decisions and long-term mine plans.

The role emphasises safety, practical leadership, and collaboration with operations to shape ventilation

Qualifications

• Queensland-recognised Ventilation Officer qualification and Practising Certificate required.
• Underground coal mining experience with ventilation and gas management expertise.
• Understanding of Queensland coal mining legislation and SHMS.
• Experience in ventilation planning, monitoring systems, gas drainage and risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate complex issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead ventilation planning, design and optimisation to support development and longwall operations.
• Coordinate ventilation surveys, gas monitoring and performance analysis; identify risks and drive timely action.
• Oversee installation and maintenance of ventilation control devices and related changes.
• Develop and improve ventilation and gas management plans, standards and risk controls.
• Provide input into gas drainage strategies and long-term mine planning.
• Lead inspections, audits and investigations and translate findings into improvements.
• Coach and develop ventilation personnel and strengthen ventilation awareness across teams.
