Job summary

Jurovich Surveying in Perth, WA is seeking experienced Underground Service Locators and Senior Service Locators to join our team. You will perform underground utility locating using GPR and electromagnetic equipment, conduct GPR scanning, and prepare clear site reports.

You will work with clients on site, mentor junior staff, maintain equipment, and uphold safety and quality on civil, infrastructure and development projects across WA.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in underground utility locating and GPR.
• Ability to interpret subsurface data and produce accurate reports.
• Experience with vacuum excavation trucks or trailers is preferred.
• Willingness to obtain DBYD/Telstra accreditation if not held.

Responsibilities

• Underground utility locating using GPR and electromagnetic locating equipment.

Underground Service Locator / Senior Service Locator

Jurovich Surveying is looking for experienced Underground Service Locators and Senior Service Locators to join our Perth team.

You will work across a range of construction, infrastructure and development projects, carrying out underground utility detection, GPR scanning, mapping and reporting using modern locating equipment.

We are interested in speaking with experienced Service Locators at different stages of their careers, including those ready to take on more responsibility, support junior team members and continue developing their technical skills.

About Jurovich Surveying

Jurovich Surveying provides surveying and underground utility locating services across construction, infrastructure, land development and engineering projects.

Our work covers underground utility detection, concrete scanning, engineering and construction surveying, feature surveys, civil works, laser scanning, UAV and other spatial services.

You will be joining an established team with access to experienced surveyors and locators, modern equipment and a broad range of projects across WA.

About the role

Your work will include:

Underground utility locating using GPR and electromagnetic locating equipment

GPR scanning and interpretation of subsurface data

Identifying, marking and recording underground services

DBYD and accredited utility locating activities

Vacuum excavation and non-destructive digging where required

Preparing clear site reports, service drawings and supporting documentation

Working directly with clients and project teams on site

Maintaining locating equipment and ensuring work is completed safely and accurately

Supporting and mentoring less experienced team members where appropriate

About you

We are looking for someone with practical underground service locating experience who can work confidently in the field and communicate well with clients.

You will ideally have:

Experience in underground utility locating and GPR

Good knowledge of underground services and subsurface infrastructure

Experience using electromagnetic locating equipment

Ability to interpret GPR data and prepare accurate reports

Experience with vacuum excavation trucks or trailers

Good computer and digital reporting skills

Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A strong focus on safety and quality

Qualifications and requirements

You will need:

Construction White Card

Ideally, you will also hold:

RIICCM202E: Identify, locate and protect underground services

NWPNET029: Identify, locate and protect utilities using GPR

DBYD and Telstra accreditation, or willingness to obtain these

Experience in concrete scanning or surveying would also be valuable.
