Job summary

Road & Civil Surveys is seeking a Subsurface Utility Surveyor to join our growing SUI division. Relocation to Gregory Hills (NSW) or Brisbane (QLD) would support active project pipelines with major road, rail, and civil works clients.

You will perform SUI works using EM locating, GPR, and sonde tracing, and deliver SUI packages integrated with our drafting workflows. Relocation assistance and a clear project path are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven utility locating experience on active sites.
• CertLoc certification or equivalent competency.
• White Card, valid driver’s licence, National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience with 3D array GPR systems and post-processing software.
• Exposure to NDD/CCTV subcontractors on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform SUI works using EM locating, GPR, and sonde tracing on active infrastructure sites.
• Produce SUI deliverables integrated with 12d Synergy & drafting workflows.
• Collaborate with survey teams and in-house drafting on integrated survey + SUI packages.
• Work with NDD/CCTV subcontractors on site and ensure quality and safety standards.

Utility Surveyor — SUI Division | Gregory Hills NSW

RCS is a surveying and civil infrastructure consultancy working with contractors on major road, rail, and civil projects across NSW, ACT, and QLD.

We're growing our Subsurface Utility Investigation division and looking for experienced Utility Surveyors to join the team, based out of either our Gregory Hills (NSW) & Brisbane (QLD) offices.

The Role

• Perform SUI works using EM locating, GPR, and sonde tracing on active infrastructure sites
• Produce SUI deliverables integrated with our existing 12d Synergy & drafting workflows
• Work across road, rail, water, and civil infrastructure projects for major contractor clients
• Collaborate with RCS's survey teams and in-house drafting on integrated survey + SUI packages
• Work alongside NDD/CCTV subcontractors on site
• Ensure quality and safety standards are met on all SUI deliverables
• Proven experience in utility locating and utility surveys
• CertLoc certification or equivalent demonstrated competency
• EM locating, GPR, and sonde tracing experience
• Working knowledge of AS 5488:2022 and AS 1345 colour coding standards
• DBYD compliance knowledge
• White Card, current driver's licence, National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Concrete scanning experience
• Exposure to 3D array GPR systems and post-processing software
• Confined Space or Traffic Control accreditation
• Surveying qualifications or experience
• Experience managing NDD/CCTV subcontractors
