Job summary

Redpath Mining in Appin, NSW, is seeking a site-based Safety Training Advisor for the AVMA Shaft Project. The role blends hands-on safety advice with a formal training and competency program, split between field work and training room delivery.

Ideal candidates will have underground mining experience, a Certificate IV in WHS and TAE with assessor competencies, and the ability to work at heights and in constrained shaft environments.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in WHS and Training & Assessment with current assessor competencies.
• Experience in underground mining or shaft operations.
• Knowledge of NSW coal mining regulations and safety standards.
• Strong communication and ability to engage a diverse workforce.
• Flexibility to work in shaft environments and heights.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical safety guidance to supervisors, crews and contractors at surface and shaft operations.
• Lead site safety initiatives, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Conduct inspections, hazard identifications and incident investigations.
• Develop and update training materials and competency assessments.
• Administer training records and learner data in the LMS.
• Coordinate inductions and workforce onboarding for site and client requirements.
• Verify contractor competency and training compliance before work on site.
