Job summary

Develop is seeking an Underground Safety Trainer to join the Woodlawn Copper Zinc Mine team in Tarago, NSW. You will deliver training, conduct competency assessments, and coach employees and contractors to meet site procedures and safety standards.

Reporting to the Safety and Training Superintendent, you will support the Safety Management System, maintain records, and help foster a proactive safety culture on site, with options for FIFO, DIDO or residential rosters.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Occupational Safety & Health or higher.
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) required.
• Minimum 2 years in safety/training in mining environment.
• Underground operational role/mobility equipment competencies.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a physically demanding role.
• Knowledge of WHS and mine safety legislation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• ICAM investigations experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver induction, refresher and task-specific training for underground workforce.
• Conduct competency assessments for employees and contractors.
• Ensure personnel meet company requirements for their role.
• Complete safety and competency documentation per company standards.
• Identify gaps and develop corrective training plans with site management.
• Train personnel in hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
• Prepare reports on training compliance and workforce competency.
• Support development and maintenance of the Safety Management System.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and assist in incident investigations.
