Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks a Production Engineer for its underground team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. The role is 8 days on/6 days off FIFO from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie, reporting to the Senior Specialist Production Engineering.

You will assist in coordinating production activities to execute the short-term schedule and liaise with underground managers to achieve targets in stope ore movement and drilling activities.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in drill & blast design and monitoring performance.
• 2+ years underground mining experience.
• Deswik proficiency preferred.
• Understanding of underground mining operations and stope design.
• Inclusive interpersonal skills for cross-functional teams.
• Strong time management, decision making and reporting.
• Permanent working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Be active in safety and align with company policies and procedures.
• Deliver compliance with SHE&C plans for drill and blast.
• Deliver drill designs and plans aligned with Short Term Plans.
• Coordinate blast preparation and charge plans.
• Engage with production drill operators to communicate plans and escalate challenges.
• Drive continuous improvements through reconciliation of drill and blast performance.
• Liaise with production foreman to drive efficiencies throughout the production cycle.
