Job summary

South32 is seeking an Operations Scheduling Engineer to drive weekly mining schedules and support the operations team at the Cannington mine in northwest Queensland. The role offers FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville and DIDO from other regions, with a focus on aligning the weekly plan and reducing idle time.

Key responsibilities include realigning daily schedules, solving execution challenges, and scoping work to meet weekly/monthly targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground mining operations.
• Knowledge of stope, development, drill and blast, ventilation, backfill, and/or short-term planning.
• Experience in Deswik Ops strongly preferred.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset and collaborative communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive weekly schedule execution through daily realignment meetings.
• Daily problem-solver for execution team to reduce idle time and fires.
• Scope to support weekly and monthly schedule delivery.
• Identify improvements for underground mining operations.
