Job summary

Macmahon is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead underground mining projects from Perth with regular site travel. You will partner with executive leadership to drive safety, operational excellence, and financial performance across a portfolio of underground operations.

The role requires a strong engineering background, FCMM certification, and 15+ years in underground mining with contract leadership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of underground mining experience with project/contract leadership.
• Proven experience working with executive leadership as advisor and operational leader.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods, infrastructure, and technology.
• Excellent commercial acumen with budgeting, contracts and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, efficient delivery of multiple underground mining projects.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ and Macmahon standards across operations.
• Drive site performance to meet budgeted revenue, profitability, and targets.
• Develop and implement improvement initiatives where performance requires adjustment.
• Consolidate monthly operational reports for business-unit reporting.
• Foster a strong customer-focused culture delivering outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
• Build, mentor and develop high-performing leadership teams across projects.
• Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence.
