Job summary

MMG is seeking a Superintendent – Mining to lead underground mining operations at the Dugald River project. You will oversee planning, scheduling, and execution, coordinating with the development contractor to meet safety, production and lifecycle targets.

The role involves managing a hybrid owner-operator/contractor model, with focus on continuous improvement, workforce planning and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in mining with ability to mentor coordinators and supervisors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-level collaboration.
• Experience with underground mining equipment and systems.
• Experience in large-scale sub level open stoping operations with paste fill.
• Queensland First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient underground mining operations meeting 13-week schedule and Life of Mine targets.
• Drive continuous improvement and high performance across the operation.
• Oversee workforce planning, training and development to support current and future needs.
• Manage project planning, task allocation and team workload to meet short- and long-term objectives.
• Implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives aligned with goals.
• Ensure compliance with budgets, procedures and regulatory requirements.
